Kate not only lives for on-the-go adventure travel, but also brings a comfortable atmosphere to her photography process. Set-ups like mounting a camera on her whitewater dory to get close to the action is her idea of playful creativity. She has photographed outdoor travel for 13 years, defining her style as reverent of nature yet playful with a touch of feminine.

Her 13 years of ecological consulting and 30 years of river guiding shows in her work. Patterns in nature define the palette as she captures people exploring the wonder of their environment.

Peter Ensenberger, Director of Photography at Arizona Highways Magazine, writes in a column about Kate (March, 2006 issue): "Her photography intertwines with adventure and gets her out where she can push the bounds of her physical and creative abilities. She’s found her rightful niche in photography, doing what she was born to do."

- Winner of Copper Award for "Best Adventure Photography" by Arizona Highways Magazine, July 2004 issue.
